Venerable One (Sculpted Original & Prints)

Have you ever been in the presence of an ancient tree? Have you felt the awe and majesty? Well, this is the base of a 170 years old cherry tree!

In spite of age and many gnarls, burls and weathered bark, she is still laden with cherries every year. You can't climb the old lady, but there's nothing stopping you for popping a delicious ripe cherry from her low lying branches.
(This piece was selected by juror for a National Juried Show. 2019 and the 2022 Jurors to exhibit during 2022 World Athletic Championships)

The sculpture is my effort to honor this old soul. It took the most time & materials of any one piece. (You can see her silhouette in my painting, "Wintry Sunset")
